Overview
I built this schema because standard resume formats flatten the parts of a career I actually care about: operating context, technology shifts, leadership themes, and the outcomes behind the titles. I wanted one structure that could power the site, the resume, and AI tooling without telling the same story three different ways.
Why This Schema?
Traditional resume formats are fine for chronology, but they do not say much about how a technology career evolves or what kind of work sits behind a role. This schema adds the pieces I kept wishing were easier to express:
- Executive Metrics: A quick way to show scale and scope.
- Transformation Outcomes: The larger changes behind the titles.
- Skills Model: A more honest view of depth, recency, and emphasis.
- AI Context: Enough structure to make AI tools useful without stuffing everything into prose.
Core Components
The schema is organized into several key modules:
- Basics: Core identity, contact info, and social profiles.
- Executive Summary: Headline metrics (e.g., "30+ Years Leadership", "$35M+ Portfolio").
- Transformation Outcomes: The larger changes and decisions behind a role.
- Focus Areas: Current thematic specializations (e.g., "AI Strategy", "Modernization").
- Work Experience: Enhanced support for multiple roles within a single organization.
- Insights: Deeper reflections on leadership philosophy and technology eras.
Usage & Integration
This schema drives several parts of how I present and reuse career information:
- Site Content: It feeds the portfolio and resume pages of this site.
- Resume Generation: It acts as the single source of truth for web and printable resume views.
- AI Context: It gives AI assistants structured context about my career history.
- Career Analytics: It makes it easier to look at growth, shifts, and skill development over time.
Examples
The project includes a few reference implementations:
- Sergey Brin & Larry Page: Demonstrating how the schema handles world-class technology leadership metrics.
- Executive Profiles: Showing transformation outcomes and strategic impact.
